USA!!! USA!!! USA!!!

Dear Family and Friends!

If you aren’t watching the Copa America, watch it!  The States are in the semifinals with Argentina tomorrow!!!!  VAMOS VAMOS USA!!!!  Watch it for me, because I won’t be allowed to:)
So today officially starts transfer number 17!  The last one!  I can’t believe it!  I feel like I just got to the mission!  But now, my group is officially the oldest one!  It doesn’t seem real!  And I’ll be staying with Elder Trost, which’ll be cool!  Although we die at the same time…  O well, that’ll be a whitewash for Unión II!  But this transfer is going to be the greatest transfer ever!!!!!!!!!!
Other than that, this week has been busy!  There were two baptisms in the zone on Saturday, which was way cool!  And we went to Puerto Madryn to get legal again (my comp and I have been illegal for 3 months, but finally we got the paper from Buenos Aires and got legal).  They only threatend to kick us out once, and then they legalized us:)  It helped that we were two gringos that knew how to speak Spanish well, and the person that was attending us was a talkative 20 year old girl:)
It was way cool though, because I saw something that Sea World doesn’t have!  Remember the whales from last week?  Yeah, huge, much bigger than Sea World will ever have!  Let alone train to jump completely out of the water!  It was so cool!  I wish I could have filmed it!  I’m talking a HUGE WHALE, jump COMPLETELY OUT OF THE WATER!!!!  Just think a semi truck throwing itself out of the water, and then the splash that would follow!!!! SO COOL!!!!!
Also, real quick, I want to share a quick thought that we talked about in a missionary council a couple of weeks ago, about inviting others to receive the gospel.  Someone said, if we are not willing to invite someone to hear the gospel, we are not truly their friends.  It was kinda harsh, but it is so true.  This gospel is the only thing that will save people, and we are the only ones that have it.  So we need to share it!
¡Les quiero mucho!  And GO AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whales!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Family and Friends!
This week has been super busy, but super fun!
We’ve honestly got like 10 people who could get baptized in any moment, or atleast with one more attendence, they just lack a little bit of a push.  But we don’t know what it is yet though…  We’re working on it though, and praying that miracles will happen as well.  We’ve started to see the beginning of one of those miracles though is that one of our investigators, who said that he was going to go out to sea, is now not going to go out to sea, and has found a job here close, which is super nice.  So we need to take advantage of that, and there could be a family that gets baptized for the end of this month.
The highlight of this week was definitely Pday.  It’s the third anniversary of the mission!  And President and Hermana Rogers go home in two weeks😦  But we all went up to Playa El Doradillo in Puerto Madryn to go see the whales!  I guess it  wasn’t even as good as it gets!  But it was so cool!  Literally you looked out over the bay and just saw 3 or 4 whales at a time!  And there were a couple that were literally so close that you could literally hear the sounds of their breathing and everything!  We had two that were like 100 yards from shore and just played and played there for a like a half an hour! It was so cool!
I don’t have all that much time though!  Share the gospel!  (And save the whales:))!!!!!!
¡Les quiero!

The Restoration

Dear Family and Friends,
While all of you guys are starting your summer vacations, it’s getting cold down here.  Like, coat weather every day!  But it’s fun!
We’ve got several investigators that still have the potential to be baptized this month, we’ve just got to help them take the last few steps.  But we’re teaching some pretty great people right now.

I think the best part of the week was church yesterday though.  For a couple of reasons.  The first was that one of the less actives that we’ve been working with came to church after 15 years of inactivity.  And what was even more amazing was the way that the ward welcomed him back.  Everyone was talking to him, and in their prayers they were all giving thanks that he came back.  Afterward he said that he didn’t think that even that many people would remember him, let alone recognize him and treat him so well.  And the better part is that he was that there are seven members of his family that are not members, and he is so excited and wants them all to get baptized!  So we’ll be working a lot with them!

Then the other part of church that was cool was the Gospel Principles class.  We watched the short video of the Restoration and then everyone shared their testimony about it (there were only recent converts and less actives and members) and the spirit was so strong!  Everybody felt it, and it strengthened my testimony even more of the Restoration of this church!  Then, during Sacrament Meeting right afterwards, it just so happens that opening hymn was “Joseph Smith’s First Prayer” and the Spirit was even stronger.  Then, during the testimony meeting several people got up and testified specifically of the First Vision, and the Spirit just filled me!  It was one of the most spiritual experiences in church that I’ve had in all of my mission!  It was amazing!

Then, to make it better, today in the morning I was writing the date, and realized that it was two years to the date since I had received my endowments in the Palmyra Temple, and later that day went to the Sacred Grove, the very place where Joseph Smith received his First Vision, and where I gained such a strong testimony of it.  It is amazing!  I know that it’s true!  I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith, and that through him the Church and Priesthood were restored!!!! I love it so much!
And here’s a funny from church…:)
My whole Ward is old here, I’m not even kidding.  They are all retired.  And here’s proof.  One of them, yesterday during their testimony, testified that President Benson is God’s living prophet guiding the church today.:)  Yes, President Benson!  He died before I was even born!  But I guess at one point he was a living prophet too:)  Oh, and also, the whole ward in their testimonies all testified about death.  That was weird too…
I love you all!  Have a great week!  Share the góspel with somebody!

Getting ready to dunk some people:)

Dear Family and Friends!
This week has been a really good week!  We’ve been working a ton and finally seeing some results.  At the beginning of the transfer we said that we weren’t going to visit less actives unless everything falls at it’s 7:30ish and we haven’t been able to sit all day.  It’s been a couple of long hard weeks without a lot of sitting, but this week things have gone pretty good:)  We’ve a couple of families that should be getting baptized for June:)  And obviously we’re not done looking:)
The first is Alejandro, Marcela, and Danitza.  I wrote last week about them.  They’re pretty great!  They came to church on Sunday and everything!  And, they’re going to get married it looks like!  Last week we challenged them to go take out a turn to get married and they said they would do it on Friday.   Now when people say they will do something like that, they generally don’t and we have to go take out the turn with them, but they went!  But they couldn’t take out the turn because the computers were down, but they said that they would go on Monday to take it out!  And, we were talking about them doing their scripture study and she was like, “It’s hard to find time” and then Alejandro said, “But in the mornings when we’re drinking mate we can read together!”  And she was like “Yeah, let’s do that!”  We didn’t even have to say anything!  It was super great!
The second family is Verónica and Gonzalo.  We found them contacting this last week.  It was super cool, we knocked and talked to her for a little bit, and she said, “I have to go, but tomorrow you can come by if you want to listen to my problems.”  So we were like, “Sounds great, we love listening to problems!”  We went back the next day and found out about her divorce and the problems that she’s having with her teenage son Gonzalo and talked a little bit about lesson 3, and ended up putting a fecha!  And she accepted it so easily, saying that she wants to be able to start her live over!  And then as we were leaving she’s like, “I’ve got a question: what happens after we die?”  So we were like “We love talking about that, can we talk about it next time?”  She agreed, and a couple minutes later out of the blue she was like “Why are there so many different churches if there’s only one God?”  So we were like “We’ve got a lesson for that too!”  It was so great!
And here’s a cool follow up story from Calafate!  I don’t know if anybody remembers me writing about Cristian, the young adult that nearly got baptized several times in Calafate, but decided he didn’t want anything more both times he was going to get baptized?  I’ll include a picture of him. Anyway, he got baptized last week!  It was so great to hear!  My comp and I had suffered so much trying to help him but he was too afraid to take the last step!  But when I found out he made it I nearly cried for joy!  But I didn’t because I was too tired because I had just finished a really long day and it was 11:00 PM.:)
Anyways, you guys are all great!  Share the gospel with somebody this week!
